Description
Few people think Sauvignon when someone says Central Otago, yet Amisfield's stylish white has developed a loyal following and in fact sells out every year. Quite a different style than your Marlborough classic, it's quite richly textured thanks to lees aging in tank and some lees stirring in old French Oak. Creamy, mineral and long, it's a classic expression of the long, dry Central Otago summer.
Smells
A charming nose showing lots of passionfruit, gooseberry, bramble yet with nutty, fresh bread type undertones.
Tastes
Softer in profile that your crisp Marlborough styles, more like biting into a fresh green apple than a lemon. Stylish and elegant in the mouth with subtle nectarine and hazelnut, the finish builds and lingers pleasantly - the mark of quality.
