Description
The label proclaims organic, wild ferment, single vineyard and vegan friendly. A literal checklist of almost all the features that the modern wine drinker wants. Inside the bottle it keeps stacking up, winemaker Clive Dougall (who did 12 years at one of the organic pioneers, Seresin Estate), has ensured the wine is fresh and vibrant, but with some bonus add-ons such as a portion of fermentation in seasoned oak puncheons, malolactic fermentation in barrel and lees stirring. An elegant Sauvignon Blanc with fantastic texture.
Smells
Very attractive nose of elderflower, lime zest and cut grass. Not overpowering though.
Tastes
Texturally driven Sauvignon Blanc, bursting with zesty gooseberry, elderflower and fresh herbs. A tight line of acid and a bit of a grip. Lovely mouthfeel, with a mineral finish. Good length. Drink now with freshly caught snapper and a limey corn salsa.
