Description
A wine that screams of the Left bank, lots of blackcurrant aromas and flavours and a long linear palate, with a chewy, chalky tannin/acid combination. A wine reminiscent of the early 2000's rather than 2020's.
Smells
cedar, spice with cassis, chalk dust, hints of cinnamon, sandalwood and freshly rolled tobacco leaves.
Tastes
a wine that builds in structure, builds in tension and intensity in the mouth. It almost stops you in your tracks, making you sit up and take note. Blackcurrant flavours dictate on the palate with feathery, chalky, gravelly tannins, with perfectly alinged acid, very engaging and salivating. A wine that expresses a cooler, coastal region and speaks strongly of Cabernet in an authorative manner. Great drinking now (decant one hour before serving) or cellar for 5 years+
