It’s rare to be presented with iconic premium Hawkes Bay red to CLEAR... one that comes with a normal $39.99 price tag now selling Incognito (in disguise) under ½ price, and less than normal cost... at a phenomenal $16.99. Due only to the awful effects of the pandemic on tourism, restaurants and bars. We only disguise outstanding wines of any variety under our legendary Incognito label that have genuine brand equity needing protection. This latest Incognito Merlot Cabernet is from an iconic Hawkes Bay winery... label... and region. A blend of 87% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot from the stunning 2021 Hawke’s Bay vintage. We recently surveyed previous buyers and their average rating was a powerful 4.45/5. Many commented on the wines power and depth and are putting some of their purchase away as it will clearly improve for many years. Others are giving it a good decant before serving and loving its ability to excel with red meat dishes and BBQ’s creations. Either way they all recognise the unconditional quality of this red. Enjoy now... or hide it away as the ultimate high calibre Cellar Red bargain... to enjoy in the future.

Dense dark berry fruits, blackcurrant bud, cedar, fresh tobacco leaves with hints of coffee grinds... classic Bordeaux like aromas.

Impressive colour, confirming it’s from an excellent year and a densely flavoured red. Laden with cassis, Black Doris plum, chocolate, coffee, and an array of exotic brown spices. A full-bodied Merlot led blend... dense, dark, and brooding with serious tannins giving structure and genuine aging ability if kept in quality storage. If, however you cannot resist, decant an hour or so prior to serving. The ultimate partner for this red is a thick, juicy piece of prime beef.

Exceptional drinking at this price. Cultured black fruits and fine tannins. I hope we all remember this time when some winemakers have had to sell at cost or below and things get back to normal. When you compare this to a supermarket $16.99.........

Paired this with some beautiful medium rare lamb medallions last night. Highly recommend you use a decanter or give it time to breathe to full appreciate this gem of a wine.

luscious wine, great bouquet on the nose, lovely dark fruity flavours with a bold tannin finish. I wish I had bought more than one bottle.

I’ve never really liked kiwi Merlot wines. This however is a favourite, the splash of Cabernet certainly adds depth of the pallet! So thanks John for the advice to try a bottle.

Best value for money that I have seen for a long time

Still a bit young for drinking now but good fruit indicates it should last well.

Good drinking now, especially if given an hour or so to breathe. Should be worth putting done away for the future.

Lovely floral nose. Palate is quite linear with very elegant black and blue fruits and a small, yet appealing green leaf presence. Nicely textured tannins adding a pleasant chalkiness to the finish. Very drinkable but expect some rewards with cellaring

Very nice wine. Will be better with a little more age on it

Nice to drink which all that matters to me

This is an excellent wine at a ridiculous price. Unlikely to disappoint any discerning student of the fruits of the vine. Both complex in it's flavours and simple to savour. Who made it??

Surprisingly nice
