Smells
a deep complex bouquet with blackcurrants, a floral lift, coffee grinds, dark chocolate with lovely savoury, leather, and earth undertones.
Tastes
This has all the hallmarks of a Merlot, Malbec blend with some age. The palate has fleshy fruit still, plums, cassis, menthol notes but with sandalwood, leather, and spice consistent with 8 years in the bottles. The palate is long and generous with mouth-coating tannins that cling to the cheeks in a silky manner. Perfect drinking now and the ideal partner to a roast leg of lamb.
