Description

A major FWD Co. discovery that delivers excellence vintage after vintage. A five-acre vineyard perched up in a steep, terraced hillside amphitheatre behind Mission Estate. A powerful and brooding wine from an excellent vintage. Three varietals (Malbec 54%, Merlot 31% and Cabernet Sauvignon 15%) are co-picked and co-fermented which is unique in NZ. Pouring a gorgeous deep purple in the glass with structure and concentration to burn. A firm favourite of the FWD Co. team and the loyal followers we have introduced to this exciting Hawkes Bay red value.

Smells

Deep dark berries, liquorice, with hints of leather and smoke.

Tastes

Beautifully structured and concentrated with dark berry and blackcurrant fruits. The oak balance is perfect, giving a nutty character and touch of spice. Warm and chocolatey with a fine tannin structure and softly creamy finish. This 2018 Tironui is as impressive as it's ever been, great drinking now and through till 2025. Perfect with BBQ and roasted meats.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
