Description
Delas has enjoyed a massive resurgence since being acquired by the famous Louis Roederer Champagne House quite a few years back. The subsequent and significant investment in vineyards, new oak and a complete winery refurbishment has seen their wines experience a quantum jump in quality without a matching price increase.
Smells
Classic aromas of ripe peaches and apricots with hazelnuts and olive oil.
Tastes
Lovely richness and an oily, viscous texture, typical of the variety with canned apricot flavours and tropical fruits. A generous palate weight, with soft acidity, again typical of the variety with a long warm finish. A unique style considering the acid is low but delicious beyond belief. A match with cheese and vegetarian dishes, or any roast pork cut. Drink now or over the next year or two.
