Description
Pecorino is a historic white grape variety that has flourished in Abruzzo for centuries. Although its origins are unclear, it was first noted by Cato the Censor, who grouped it with other ancient varieties like Greco di Tufo, Grechetto and Pignoletto. By the late 1980s, it had almost vanished, with only a few vines remaining in Teramo and L’Aquila. Thanks to the dedication of passionate winemakers, Pecorino has made a remarkable comeback and is now widely planted across Abruzzo. This wine is crafted from the finest Pecorino grapes, with enhanced structure and body due to its unique vinification process, which involves aging on fine lees for added complexity and depth.
Smells
showing typical aromas of yellow guava, grapefruit and a herbal floral lift of elderberry, true to the variety.
