Description

Cha^teau Dauzac, a 5th growth Grand Cru Classe´ Margaux wine according to the 1855 classification, has the enormous privilege of having 45 hectares with the Margaux appellation and four hectares with the Haut-Me´doc appellation. Located near the Gironde estuary whose influence on the vineyard's ecosystem is critical, the property is protected from ocean winds thanks to 120 hectares of meadows and forests. 62% Cabernet and 38% Merlot from 35 to 40 year old vines was bought to the winery in small crates and double sorted pre crushing. Aged for 18-months in French barriques, it has considerable depth and complexity with a very composed palate. Classic Margaux, enjoyable now and excellent drinking through 2026+.

Smells

Enticingly ripe fruit with spices and complex array of the dried notes of autumn.

Tastes

Beautifully ripe and juicy palate delivering concentrated dark fruits imbued with cherry, nutmeg, subtle charry oak, dried herbs and hints of cured meats. The tannins are compact and finely grained, and the acidity gives the luscious fruit a juicy carriage through its lengthy finish.

Dark Ruby with purple hues, medium legs and a nice blackcurrant aroma (moderate not full).A beautiful smooth taste with mix of plum, oak and blackberry. 2015 is one of the good vintages. (my review has 46 likes on Vivino)
