Description
This is the 3rd release of Nor’Wester from Greystone Wines... a Top 20 NZ winery producing organic wines of impeccable class and quality. Their winemaker Dom Maxwell is among NZs finest and is previously NZ Winemaker of the Year. Greystone Nor’Wester Pinot once again overdelivers on quality versus price at its high-end retail of $29.99. 2018 was a strong Waipara vintage and its exciting for Pinot lovers to be able to savour a wine of this quality off outstanding terroir and by a leading KIWI winemaker at a widely accessible price! It is thoroughly enjoyable now but has the depth and complexity to cellar comfortably for up to 5 years from vintage. The critics have placed it in the excellent category with multiple 93/100 ratings, which is exactly where our professional Fine Wine Delivery tasting panel including me see it. Jeff
Smells
Bright red and dark fruits, with enticing aromas of wildflowers and savoury spice.
Tastes
Somewhat deceptively so, the palate initially seems light and delicate, but it quickly builds in your mouth showing its true weight and power. Luscious fruits wrapped in gently clinging tannins, spice and savoury complexities kick in mid palate and carry through to the juicy, lengthy finish. A perfect sweet and savoury contrast accented by French oak, and silky texture and fine tannin. Enjoy with white and red meats, now through 2024.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
