Description
Shiraz Viognier are the traditional grapes of the Northern Rhone, fermented together where Viognier (white grapes) bring perfume, freshness, and elegance to the wine. The Y-Series represents a collection of iconic classics and exiting new varietals within the Yalumba range. In this case the fermenting of red and white grapes together.
Smells
Viognier grapes bring lifted florals; violets, rosewater and spice which marry perfectly with the dark fruits, white pepper, allspice, and cedar notes.
Tastes
a rich, ripe wine that has elegance due to the white grapes, bringing freshness and perfume. This has resulted in an alluring combination of savoury, earthy flavours with roasted red meats, roasted red and green peppers and white pepper giving a high tone lift. Great drinking now or will cellar 2-4 years, perfect with roasted red meats.
