Description

While GSM blends as they're known are many and varied in South Australia, very few are made using the traditional method of cofermentation via field blend. All the grapes come of the one vineyard in Gomersal, the blend being 80% Grenache, 15% Shiraz and 5% Mataro. The nose shows perfectly ripe black doris plums, cassis and hints of dried woody herbs, while the palate has a lovely fine tannin and a soft red raspberry and plum fruit and red liquorice sweetness on the palate, the garrigue characters of the Southern Rhone coming through on the long, soft finish. A very charming and complete wine, it will be good for the mid-term in the cellar too through 2026.
