Description
Californian wines are hugely popular, the region can produce very affordable warm climate, rich, opulent wines… notably chardonnay and Zinfandel. Gnarly Head Zinfandel is from 35 to 80 year old vines, some of the oldest in California. These low yielding vines produce a rich, jammy red layered with sweet dark berry fruit. Barossa Shiraz lovers should also find this deliciously decadent red to their liking.
Smells
Powerful, rich aromas of ripe blackberry, milk chocolate, tea and spice with subtle dried herb notes offset by generous American oak.
Tastes
Medium-bodied, smooth, and decadent with rich blackberry compote notes, black tea, and spicy, sweet American oak. Best enjoyed within 5 years of the year on the label… with BBQ’s meats, creamy cheeses or simply and deliciously on its own.
