NEW Gold Medal Winning Spanish Bargain!

With a rich family history dating back to 1860, this is the sixth oldest, and one of the best known wineries of the Rioja region, exported to over 60 countries in the world.

Spanish Wine is in hot demand right now. Its been enjoying an ever increasing trajectory for several years due to its approachable easy drinking style, and its unbeatable bang for buck. This wine is a new brand to NZ, and a classic example of the outstanding value for money you can find with Spanish Wines.

Fruit for this Gold Medal winner comes from Rioja Alta - one of the three sub-regions making up the highly acclaimed Rioja region. Located at the Western most area, it is best suited specifically for high quality Tempranillo.

Harvested from mature vineyards that enjoy a higher altitude compared to the other sub-regions. This makes for a slightly cooler environment and therefore creates wine with a higher acidity and tannin - more structural, deeper in colour and often lower in alcohol.
That structure is what makes them so suitable for food matching, and this wine is suited to a raft of dishes - BBQ's, Stews, Char - Grilled Chicken, Moussaka, Grilled Eggplant and Strong Cheeses.

NZ Master of Wine Bob Campbell describes this wine as " Fruity, flavoursome tempranillo with violet, dark berry, spice, anise and subtle fresh herb flavours. Attractive wine with energy. A good food wine, that's a bargain at this price. "

Not only is this wine imminently drinkable with its juicy acidity and ripe fruit, but it is a mic dropping bargain of epic proportions. It will blow your other mid week quaffers out of the water and impress guests ten fold when you tell them it cost less than $15 bucks!
Its a bargain at its usual $18.99 Retail price, but why not save yourself a few extra dollars and buy it at Fine Wine Delivery for the astounding price of just $14.99 while stocks last!

Enjoy

Description

Bodegas Valoria is barely 5 kilometres from Logroño, opposite the Grajera Natural Park. Bodegas Valoria was founded by the Pérez Foncea family of Fuenmayor in 1860 and is the 6th oldest and one of the best-known wineries of the La Rioja DO. Originally oriented towards the local market the winery was purchased by Navarro Lopez in 2010 where its production facilities expanded slightly and now exporting 70% of its production to 60 countries. Rioja’s signature variety Tempranillo is harvested from mature vines sourced only from Rioja Alta vineyards. Fermented at cooler temperatures to capture the wines ethereal fruit characters and retaining fresh acidity that makes it eminently drinkable.
Smells. This wine exhibits aromas of ripe fruit, sweet, spices and coffee on the nose.
Tastes: Cherry red colour with garnet tones. On the palate it is savoury, fruity and with great harmony, polished tannins and a long finish. Ideal with red meats, bbqs, stews grilled chicken and cheese. Best served at 14ºC.
