Description

Salasar has arrived just in time for the Festive season and the warmer summer months. Modestly priced French Méthode Traditionnelle (made like champagne) doesn't get much better! This dry, crisp and complex bubbles is made from handpicked Mauzac, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc grapes off the estates sloping hillside vineyards in the foothills of the French Pyrenees Mountains (altitude 300-500 metres)... with some estate vines over 100-years old. 9-months ageing on lees in the bottle, 9gms residual sweetness (BRUT) plus 11.5% alcohol, are a perfect combination resulting in a beautifully fresh, fruity wine with subtle lees characters and a dry finish. Stock up the wine fridge, gift or simply enjoy as an aperitif often throughout the summer.

Smells

Subtle baked bread/brioche, granny smith apple and a hint of citrus.

Tastes

Crisply dry and textural with impressive length for a Méthode at this money. Zesty citrus fruits are underpinned by baked bread and brioche lees aging notes which add seductive interest to its excellent weight of flavour and overall harmony.
