Description
Agricola Punica is a joint venture between the Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia Group, Sardinian winery Cantina di Santadi and the legendary Tuscan consulting oenologist Giacomo Tachis. It was Tachis who originally saw the potential for Carignan on Sardinia, and this blend reveals that in spades. 60% Carignan with 10% each of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cab Sauvignon and Syrah aged 12 months in French Oak barrels. Fruity, elegant, and finely structured combining all the favourite things we love about Tuscan and Bordeaux reds.
Smells
Fine florals over berries/ cherries and plum aromas with fine cedary oak... very alluring!
Tastes
a beautifully juicy tirade of fruit with a myriad of savoury, dried herb, spice, and chocolate Gateaux sub flavours. Elegant tannins and gently salivating acids bring this superb medium bodied red to a delicious crescendo. Enjoy now through 2028 with grilled meats or hearty stews.
