Description

A Chianti Classico (Classico being a defined, historical area containing the best vineyards) blend consisting of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Chianti, Florence and the Ricasoli family have been closely linked since the mid 1100’s and have been sending their wines around the world since the late 1600’s. Famously they are the originators of the Chianti Classico blend, first created by Baron Bettino Ricasoli in 1872.

Smells

bright cherry stone aromas, red liquorice, tomato leaf and even gazpacho notes with a wonderful crisp, herbal vein; cucumber, violets and basil.

Tastes

the classically dry, stone sucking texture of this wine instantly lures you in, a superb balance of finely woven tannins and acidity that give drive, energy and interest. Crunchy red fruit flavours, green olive notes, interwoven with cedar, and sandalwood underpinned by a salty, cured meat complexity. One for the cellar for a few years or decant just prior to serving. This will partner well with pasta or roasted red meats.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
