Description
While GSM blends as they're known are many and varied in South Australia, very few are made using the traditional method of co-fermentation via field blend. All the grapes come of the one vineyard in Gomersal, the blend being 80% Grenache, 15% Shiraz and 5% Mataro. Co-fermenting results in the perfect marriage of each variety, both aromatically and on the palate.
Smells
The nose shows perfectly ripe black doris plums, cassis and hints of dried woody herbs.
Tastes
the palate has lovely fine tannins and a soft red raspberry and plum fruit spectrum with a red liquorice sweetness on the palate, the garrigue characters of the Southern Rhone coming through on the long, soft finish. A very charming and complete wine, it will be good for the mid-term in the cellar too through 2026 and made for your favourite BBQ’ed meats.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
