Description
Louis Jadot is a famous Burgundian Domaine with centuries of tradition, experience and the know how to make excellent wines. This Beaujolais Village is made using traditional Burgundian vinification methods, no carbonic maceration, Pinot techniques on Gamay grapes. Combine this with the added quality levels associated with Beaujolais-Village and you have one very tasty wine. Beaujolais-Villages identifies 38 villages that have been designated as of a higher quality level and can be labelled Beaujolais Villages. In this case Burgundy meets Beaujolais and the results in the bottle are excellent.
Smells
perfumed aromas of blueberries, sour red plums, red cherries, liquorice, violets, and spice.
Tastes
Jadot are famous for making robust styles of Pinot and this is certainly a bigger, more dense and tannic version of either Pinot or Beaujolais. But great drinking as it captures the best of both styles. There is a bright, juicy, and energetic core of fruit, running the length of the palate with chalky tannins that cling to your cheeks, providing structure and a framework. Excellent drinking now and even cellar for 1-2 years and serve with cured meats, hard cheese, or pork ribs. The recommended serving temperature is 13-15 degrees.
