"Mancuso is one of the world’s most exciting fine wine discoveries. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate rates this 2005 vintage 96/100 the same score as 2005 Lafite Rothchild, Mouton Rothchild, Latour and Petrus and higher than 2005 Le Pin that sells on average worldwide for over $3800. Robert Parker himself selected it as one of the great Grenache wines of the world at his “Grand Grenache” tasting alongside wines worth up to $1100.Around the world this tiny production wine is now almost impossible to find. Crafted by two of Spain’s most dynamic young winemakers from ancient 100 year old ungrafted Grenache vines grown at 1000 mts and yielding less than half a bottle per vine, the fruit was hand harvested then hand selected in the winery. The wine was fermented in small wooden vats then matured in new French Allier oak barrels for 14 months then bottled without filtration. This is Spain’s answer to Grange Hermitage; rich ripe and exotic it delivers a mind blowing array of black fruits, black berry liqueur, Espresso, grilled meats, violets, black tea leaf and the sweet spice and desiccated coconut oak aromas familiar to Grange lovers. Opulent, dense and beautifully structured, the aromatic complexities follow through on the palate to a long, long flavour packed finish. Anyone smart enough to secure this wine for their cellar should ideally enjoy it from 2016 – 2030, Salud!"
