Description
Tignanello is one of the first Super Tuscans that put Italy on the world stage. The 2021 vintage is a very typical 79% Sangiovese, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc. The Sangiovese is very much front and centre, but with the Cabernets adding opulence to the wine. If you have never tried, well now is the moment, especially considering this 2021 is double 98/100!
Smells
Ripe red fruit immediately greets the nose underpinned by liquorice, cloves, chocolate and even hints of mint, all giving beautiful complexity.
Tastes
The palate is rich yet vibrant with tannins that coat the palate with a sensual, velvety texture. There is a gorgeous sympathy of fruit, plums, dark cherry with sweet tobacco and a striking herbal vein. This wine sings, striking a chord with all the senses, leaving you wanting more. Cellar for 10-15 years or more. Serve with your favourite Italian red meat dish.
