Description
Made by James and Annie Millton on their bio-dynamically certified and managed Gisborne Estate. Grown biodynamically using special herbal, mineral and animal preparations and with compassion for the laws of nature. From the strong 2019 vintage, it’s a field blend of Malbec, Syrah and Viognier aged in American oak for 11 months it is bottled unfined and unfiltered. As natural as winegrowing gets, should be high on the to drink list of vegetarians and vegans. James and Annie Milton’s vineyards were the first in NZ to attain Organic... and bio-dynamic certification and James is considered a world authority. They are at the forefront of this natural style of winemaking.
Smells
Enticing aromas of desiccated coconut, spice, florals, lifted miny notes, plum, apricot and black pepper.
Tastes
Juicy and fleshy with plum and hints of berry opening mid palate, joined by sweet oak, dark chocolate, spice and pepper. Nice purity with velvety texture and fine yet chewy tannins, juicy acids carry the flavours to a more-ish finish. Enjoy immediately through 2027 with Sirloin steak.
