Yalumba have been perfecting their “Y” Series Tempranillo over a couple of decades and I can say hand on heart I have not tasted an example from Spain of this indigenous Spanish variety any better or as good as for the breathtaking price/value. Champion Trophy & Gold says it all really. Yalumba “Y” Series wine range has become the go to everyday affordable Australian wines and its clear as to why when you taste any of them. All true to variety, all with exceptional weight of flavour and balance v price too. And vintage 2021 produced Tempranillo grapes of balance, style, and exceptional varietal characteristics. That certainly shines through in this overly generous and incredibly satisfying red. In times when our dollars are not going so far this Tempranillo enables you to drink at a quality level well above its asking price… impressive BBQ & midweek drinking. Invite a few friends over, open a bottle, don’t tell them how little you paid, and let the worries of the day pass away with good wine and great company.

Alluring aromas of blueberry, black cherry, violet and oven baked tomato.

Deep bright crimson in colour. Silky and juicy on the palate with loads of dark berry fruit filling the palate before driving through to a moreish, mocha-tannin fuelled finish. Delicious drinking by itself but great with BBQ fare, charcuterie, pizza and lots of casual foods.
