Description

When a wine is awarded 100points, that’s impressive and instantly makes you stop in your tracks, take a moment, take note, and read up about who could produce a perfect wine. Reading about Yangarra’s philosophies and you can understand a little more about how they achieve this remarkable score. Yangarra’s combination of rare geologies, moderate altitude, abundant sunshine, and cool evening breezes make it perfect for growing varieties that thrive in the moderate maritime Mediterranean environments. They are devoted to producing wines from the best grape varieties of the southern Rhone, where their old bush vine Grenache is the cornerstone variety. Yangarra Estate is planted with a number of diverse varieties, including traditional grapes like Shiraz and Roussanne to more obscure varieties such as Bourboulenc, Picpoul Noir, Clairette Blanc and Counoise. Using biodynamic regenerative farming practices and sensitive winemaking philosophies, their respect of this special piece of country is evident in the wines they make from its grapes – every Yangarra Estate wine is a confident reflection of this land. 100pts James Suckling and 98 Wine Advocate.

Smells

a plush mixture of red and dark fruit aromas, with notes of red liquorice, violets, and hints of lifted rose petals. Taste: likened to some of the best Chateauneuf du Pape, Rayas and Beaucastel. The palate has a plush core with a juiciness and the silkiest, most seamless texture. This wine exudes intensity on every level, is deep, rich, and compelling. Simply engaging on every level. Will mature 10years+ in a temperature-controlled cellar.
