Description
Matt Dicey is well acclaimed for his expertise with Pinot Noir, recognised both here in NZ and Internationally. He put the wines of Mt Difficulty on the world map, then Ceres (pronounced Series) and now Dicey Wines. Dicey being the family name which literally translates to ‘Risky and potentially dangerous’. What more could you ask for, wines with heritage, class and an exciting, risky element built in.? I am sold…..
Smells
an alluring bouquet of red cherries, maraschino cherries, rosehip, bacon rind with hints of forest floor and an earthy corruption.
Tastes
the palate is vibrant, expressing a red berry compote, developing into savoury complexing notes of seaweed, crushed thyme and a hint of something corrupt. Those aromas that are hard to put your finger on, slightly dirty but very alluring…. The palate, initially elegant but it’s a creeper, it builds and builds. Watch out, it will get you and it’s got me hooked. Delicious drinking now but will easily cellar 5-8 years, if you can hold yourself back. Made for gamey meats.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
