Description

Many called 2013 the vintage of a generation and who would argue when you experience the richness, weight, opulent texture, divine sweet and savoury contrast and UMAMI like pleasure this Dog Point Pinot Noir gives you. Pinot Noir of this complexity and quality takes many years for everything to come together in perfect harmony... in this case 7-years has seen it in a stunning drinking space. The sloping free draining clay-based vineyards were planted with Burgundian clones and are organically managed. Through exceptional vineyard management the fruit yields are kept naturally low. When you have such outstanding vineyards, the vintage of a generation and the winemaking and viticulture prowess of owners James Healy and Ivan Sutherland (they made Cloudy Bay a global icon) you end up with an exceptional Pinot Noir like this.

Smells

Haunting floral, spice, sweet plum and cherry aromas gradually subsiding into subtle smoky savoury nuances.

Tastes

A velvety cloak of divinely contrasting rich sweet and savoury flavours flood the palate embraced by silky layers of tannin. Underlying power and opulence with softly salivating acidity. Smoky, spicy complexity lingers with UMAMI like presence... everything you could conspire to want in a compelling Pinot Noir moment. Perfect drinking through 2025, create a special meal to showcase its deliciousness.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
