Description

A boutique operation near Alexandra in Central Otago, 8 Ranges is obsessive about quality and no expense is spared in the pursuit of Pinot perfection. Single vineyard, low cropped at only 5 tonnes to the hectare, everything is 100% hand harvested and aged in French Oak. Responsible for Trail Rider 2017 (where their 2nd tier was Cuisine No1) and hence their top wine will shock you into silence. A gorgeous Pinot with a serious side, anyone who loves Pinot should jump on this, tout suite!

Smells

layers of red fruit, confected notes, exotic spices, milk chocolate, crushed thyme giving way to toast and vanilla, you could simply smell the nose all night long, intoxicating.

Tastes

silky, textural, and ultimately satisfying are words that spring to mind. A wonderful combination of red and dark fruits with a savoury, earthy, herbal vein giving complexity and interest, encouraging the need for another taste to further access its qualities. Drinking well now and will cellar for 5-7 years. A textbook Central Pinot Noir that will not disappoint. Roasted duck breast or other gamey treats will make for a match made in heaven.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
