Description

Wild Earth owner Quintin Quider’s passion for Pinot Noir saw Wild Earth wines rapidly vault to global prominence soon after their 2003 startup - their 2006 Pinot Noir winning 5 Champion Trophies at the IWC in London, including “Best Red Wine in the World”. Golds & 5 Star ratings rolled in with all ensuing vintages. 2016 was awarded Platinum Best in Show at Decanter with an impressive 97 points! 2020 picked up 2 Trophies at the Aotearoa Regional Wine Awards and 5 stars from Winestate Magazine. 2021 achieved 3 Major Gold’s plus 6 x 5 Star ratings… including 96/100 and finalist in Winestate Australasian Pinot Noir Champion, plus a huge 96/100 at the Decanter World Wine Awards in London… 18,275 wines from around the globe submitted and judged, only 2.5% awarded 96+ points. This 2022 has more of the same pedigree with 5 x 5 Star awards. Suffice to say its vineyard origins are special reflected throughout its 18-years of huge global success plus brilliant winemaking by former NZ Winemaker of the Year, Jen Parr. Expect to enjoy this Pinot beyond the 10-year mark if well cared for.

Smells

Brooding with deep notes of blackberry, Satsuma plum, fine spices, wild herbs.

Tastes

Silky smooth with outstanding concentration of black plum, blueberry and cassis infused with complex baking spices and fine herbs. The tannin/acid balance is seductive and the length divine. Enjoy upon release through 10 years, serve with gamey meats and savoury pasta dishes… save a glass or two for after dinner.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
