For a small vineyard in a small region, Greenhough in Nelson has quite the reputation. Leaving Auckland behind for a new life growing wine in Nelson, 1990 saw Jenny Wheeler and Andrew Greenhough embark on a thrilling and challenging adventure. 25 years on, the wines have a loyal following and always represent excellent value. This Pinot coming from two vineyards which are only a Stone’s Throw apart; different sites and different soils combined with multiply clones have resulted in a complex, savoury Pinot with the true Greenhough house stamp, a rich, dark, full bodied style that overdelivers every time.

Wild raspberry and floral characters, with herbal nuances and a lingering touch of savouriness. A truly beguiling nose, impressive.

Impressively structured, the fruit washes over the palate in layers, moving from initial blackberry and dark plum, to slightly brighter strawberry and rose petal characters. All the while, the toasty oak and savouriness holds everything all together. A complex wine that offers unheard of value for money, this is a Pinot Noir that any enthusiast should be looking to get their hands on! An ideal partner with Peking Duck and other gamey dishes.
