Description

Gorgeous Single Vineyard Central Otago Pinot Noir with a pedigree of awards over the last decade as long as your arm! This current 2022 vintage is sporting 4 x 94+/100 (5-Star) ratings. It is one of Central Otago’s top echelon Pinots made by one of NZ’s finest Pinot exponents, previously crowned World Champion Pinot Noir winemaker in London. Hand tended and made from vineyard to glass. 21-days on skins to extract fine tannins and dense fruit characters… it is then aged in the best Burgundian oak barrels (25% new) for 10-months. The fusion of fruit, oak, tannin, and acidity perfect… as manifested in its consistently high across the board ratings. An excellent vintage… deliciously dark and very silky, everything adorable about Central Otago in your glass. Drink tonight, but you should consider cellaring a case or part thereof at this staggering CLEARANCE price. You’ll have an amazingly priced high quality cellar Pinot to enjoy 2027-2030.

Smells

Fresh black cherry, boysenberry, cedar, vanilla and thyme with subtle violet florals

Tastes

Dark cherry and boysenberry fruit wash over the palate in a silky tannined embrace. Delicious hints of vanilla, cocoa, and savoury complexities drive the long, earthy finish. Absolutely drinkable now, but no hurry whatsoever, as it will hit its peak through 2027-2030. A generously fruited wine that would complement mushroom dishes, duck and lamb. Save a glass or two for post dinner.
