Description

Mt Difficulty's Pipeclay Terrace vineyard was planted in 1995 and sits underneath the cliffs fashioned out by the sluicing gold miners. One of the most varied vineyards, there are a range of soils from classic Bannockburn gravels to the very different Scotland point soils with a high proportion of water-holding clay. 2010 was quite a warm season, ensuring excellent concentration.

Smells

Smoky cured meat, pencil shavings and black cherry, the aromas deep and brooding.

Tastes

Lots of fruit richness on the palate, with toasty oak, dried herbs and a clean elegant finish. A gorgeous wine that really has really enjoyed it time in the cellar, and will keep for another good many years yet!

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
