Wild Earth make Pinot with serious pedigree, grown on Bannockburn's famed Felton Road, wowing critics and consumers the world over, known for it's elegance and concentration.

It started with the 2006 Pinot that won an unstoppable FIVE TROPHIES at London's International Wine Challenge. And of course their 2016 took out Decanter Magazine's Best in Show title with an impressive 97/100 points. The 2017, which they felt was their best yet, received an incredible four 5-Star ratings. And that's just the highlights - don't forget the 36 Gold Medals in between all those Trophies!

It's a lengthy list of accolades that tell us, Wild Earth make seriously good Pinot year in and year out! Which is why the world is so excited to see what the highly anticipated 'vintage of a decade' 2019 will be like....

Fruit for this exquisite wine was hand-picked from cool sites to retain the fresh elegant characters and ensure a wine that will age gracefully. They used eight different ferments in this blend, each with a different amount of whole bunch in the mix - up to 50%. Whole bunch fermentation is used to create complexity, elegance, and in ripe vintages, to retain freshness.
The wine was then meticulously aged in fine grain French Oak for twelve months - 22% of which were brand new barrels.

And while it's early days in terms of overseas reviews of this wine, the local results are certainly showing the wonderful promise in this wine. With Triple 5-Star ratings already, this is another stellar example that holds true to their elegant and complex house style. It shows exemplary concentration with black plum, cassis and blueberry infused with a complex blend of baking spices and subtle herbs. Silky smooth tannins are balanced by juicy acidity and the finish is seductive and lingering.
It's elegant yet fresh, approachable now and somehow built for an easy ten year cellaring at least.

Wild Earth owner Quintin Quider is Californian by birth and a commercial diver by trade, in fact it was the bounties of NZ's oceans that drew him to the Deep South. A passion for Pinot Noir soon developed and it wasn't long before Wild Earth wines vaulted to global prominence - their 2006 Pinot Noir winning five trophies at the IWC in London, including Best Red Wine in the World and the 2016 was awarded Platinum Best in Show at Decanter with an impressive 97 points! The inside word was that their 2017 (which received 4 x 5 Star reviews) was their best yet! But this 2019, well it's pretty darn good. Watch this space!

Smells

Brooding with deep notes of blackberry, Satsuma plum, fine spices and wild herbs.

Tastes

Silky smooth with outstanding concentration of black plum, blueberry and cassis infused with complex baking spices and fine herbs. The tannin/acid balance is seductive and the length divine. Enjoy upon release through 10 years, serve with gamey meats and savoury pasta dishes.
