Delas has enjoyed a massive resurgence since being acquired by the famous Louis Roederer Champagne House quite a few years back. The subsequent and significant investment in vineyards, new oak and a complete winery refurbishment has seen their wines experience a quantum jump in quality without a matching price increase. This Syrah dominant Cotes du Rhone has the drinkability of a $30 red and considering it is from the stellar 2021 vintage, really means a case is in order, to stash away and reap the rewards.
Smells
Berry and plum fruits with fragrant hints of violet and liquorice/spice.
Tastes
Lovely richness and warmth builds through the palate with enticing peppery notes pervading the dark fruit flavours. Good mouthfeel and a strong juicy finish with subtle spice/savoury elements present. Made for any BBQ or roasted red meats.
