Description

Swartland is the new hip wine region in South Africa, and this Syrah 100% proves that very point. An amazing thirteen different parcels of fruit from very different soil types, including decomposed granite, shale and schist, vines aged between 19 and 26 years. A very stylish and intense Syrah, with a whopping 30+ dry extract rating, it's one for the cellar through 2029 if you can keep your hands off it.

Smells

An array of spices and leather, with blackberry, violet and citrus peel.

Tastes

Juicy and very intense, it opens up in the glass, revealing its cellar potential and impressive structure. A long finish and supple tannins make it enjoyable now but with plenty of potential. The tannins simply build and build, and in fact is one of the best South African Syrah the Fine Wine Team has tasted. Serve with your favourite roasted red meats.
