Description

Nearly 30 parcels of old, dry-grown fruit from some of the finest grape-growing families in the Barossa. Open-fermented and matured in American and French oak for nearly 2 years. Deep colour: arguably the Barossa's most emblematic shiraz, faithfully reflecting the best features of a seamless assembly of distinct flavours picked at precisely the right time. This is fruit talking, not alcohol, not oak, not rough tannins.’ And the 2015 scored 97/100 from James Halliday and we are sure the 2016 will follow, especially since James Suckling rated it 96pts.

Smells

a heady bouquet of black pepper, black fruits, cedar, dark baking spices, black liquorice and earthy aromas.

Tastes

A wine of two halves, powerful yet elegant that is composed, yet perfectly rip with classic descriptives of blackberries, cedar, leather, forest floor and even tar flavours. The palate is supple with wonderfully enveloping tannins. There is a synergy and tension between the fruit weight, complexity, precise tannins with a warm, chocolate, toasty, vanilla finish.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
