Description
Barbera is one of the unsung heroes of Piemonte, certainly behind Nebbiolo, the king of the region. Barbera, however, makes brightly fruited wines with moderate tannins, firm acid and little or no oak. Intended to be drunk young but some have the quality and class to age. Simply delicious fruity wines that will make every occasion even more special. One sip of this Casali Barbera 2021 and we know you will agree.
Smells
a lifted nose of dehydrated raspberries, strawberries with pomegranate and brown spices surging in the glass.
Tastes
brightly fruited with juicy red berry flavours with the added excitement of a crunchy texture enhanced by the fine grain chalky tannins. The acid adds freshness, reigning in the exuberant fruit. A wonderfully, easy drinking style, 100% satisfying and is very food friendly. Pair with cheese, canapes, soups, and pasta. Drinking well now through 2025.
