Almost Burgundian at first, such is the light and silky mouthfeel with lively acid and strawberry flavours, there is a nod to Cru Beaujolais with the mineral aspect of the wine, but then it finishes long and sternly structured - throwing the first impressions out the window! Smells
wild berry aromas abound, fennel, black liquorice straps with hints of cranberries and baked fruit notes. It keeps you guessing and forces you to breathe in the aromas, over and over.
Tastes
a wonderful harmony of red, dark, and baked fruits that entice the senses and keeps you pondering. The fruit dances across the palate and then the tannins hit, making you sit up and almost jump back. It’s bigger than initial impressions but this only intrigues, all the more. A rustic yet exciting wine from one of the superstars of the wine industry and you can see why he has earnt his reputation.
