Description
In 2019 wine scribe Katie Spain wrote, “The late Greg Trott had an entrepreneur’s eye and a farmer’s heart, a balance that served him well”. Trott grew up on a McLaren Vale farm growing stone fruit, grapes and raising chickens. He returned to the land after school and continued farming while he undertook the audacious task of rebuilding Wirra Wirra from ruins. This 2021 Grenache is evidence of his tireless work and passion. A mix of vineyard blocks picked and fermented separately, where only the best parcels were blended together.
Smells
A fragrant compote of ripe raspberries and cherries, rich with spice, musk, fresh herbs and a classic earthy, eucalyptus note.
Tastes
Succulent, juicy red fruits fill the mouth. Primary fruit energy is supported by sandy tannin and waves of savoury spices. A Delightful, juicy and fresh fruited style that is perfect for everyday and most occasions. Perfect for every BBQ or with pork and duck dishes. The recommended serving temperature is 15-16 degrees.
