Superstar Otago Pinot Bargain... Superstar vineyard – Superstar winemaker & Superstar vintage! All the Stars are aligned in Otago Pinot lovers favour at this Superstar low price of $23.99!

Eight Ranges is a boutique 3-hectare vineyard situated on a high terrace above the Alexandra Basin in picturesque Central Otago, their Trail Rider Pinot Noir production capped at a miserly 750 dozen. Every stage and practice from the vine to the glass screams premium, which is why their 2017 vintage took out Cuisine’s Pinot Noir of the Year in 2019 beating many big price ticket Pinots along the way.

Trail Rider is crafted by Otago winemaking superstar Matt Connell, the site, soils and winemaking all aligned at a very high level. 2020 was a super Otago vintage and you won’t need to be experienced to taste the x-factor in this delightfully underpriced Premium Pinot Noir. Handpicked fruit crafted with a mix of New & Old World winemaking and aged in French oak barriques (24% new). The finished wine is plush, vibrant, juicy, and unreservedly enjoyable on release... but has the pedigree to age gracefully through 2025-2027 if so desired.

The Wine...
Lifted aromas of red plums, raspberry and fresh dark cherry with subtle dried herbs and smoky oak. A plush and juicy parade of fruits wrapped in fine grained tannins with a silky-smooth textural embrace. As it gains momentum an underlying and subtle amalgam of herb, spice and oak characters evolve adding complexity and drive to the nicely long palate.

Absolutely seductive by itself... but also enjoy with lamb, game, creamy pasta dishes or something as simple as aged creamy cheeses and charcuterie. However you choose to drink your Eight Ranges Trail Rider 2020 Pinot Noir... you will love its generosity and panache well exceeding any Pinot Noir lovers reasonable expectations at just $23.99.

Enjoy, Jeff
