Description
The Estate Pinot Noir of the iconic winemaker Larry McKenna.
Larry McKenna is Mr Martinborough, with over 30 years now making wine in this most celebrated of all NZ regions. His single vineyard wines are legend, but it's this Estate Pinot Noir that is the true voice of his region. It’s still hand picked, hand plunged every 12 hours and French Oak aged (25% new) for 11 months. Fragrant, delicate dried herb notes with the full gamut of red, black and green Pinot fruit that Larry strives for, this 2017 is a classic Escarpment Pinot Noir.

Smells
Soft, savoury and gently herbal, with dark cherry, red fruits, smoke and cured meat.
Tastes
Beautifully sensual with serious tannin structure, lots of complex fruit and a dry, nuanced finish. Great now but better in 5 to 7 years, it will cellar 10+.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
