Description
Only the best parcels of fruit are reserved for Giesen 'The Brothers' Pinot Noir... which includes a parcel from NZ’s most famous Premium Pinot Vineyard... “Clayvin”. And in a vintage like 2018, the quality bar is set very high, the premium fruit selected being next level. Quality winemaking begins with indigenous ferment on skins for 14-days before gentle pressing into a mix of 225L and 300L French barrels... not too much new oak, so the texture and complexity are enhanced without any drying oak tannins present. The Brothers 2018 is a very classy Pinot Noir that one could warm to irrespective of your preference for region, and it is without peer at such a stunningly low price.
Smells
An alluring array of florals, bright fruit, subtle smoke and cedar aromas build in the glass.
Tastes
Concentration combined with elegance is the first thing that strikes you on entry to the palate. As it settles the bright red fruits move aside to reveal searching savoury and spice complexities. The tannin/acid balance is precise allowing the deep flavours to lift on the powerful finish. Enjoy now through 2025 and match with strongly flavoured game and savoury dishes.
