Description
Julicher Estate is on the famous Te Muna Road to the South of the Martinborough township, keeping company with the likes of Escarpment & Craggy Range. Earlier this millennium their Estate Pinot Noir was crowned NZ Champion at Air NZ Wine Awards. 2014 was a lovely vintage reflected in the Twin 5 Star ratings + Gold Medal awarded to this 6-year old cellar aged Premium Pinot Noir. 375ml bottles of Premium KIWI Pinot Noir are rare... and in this instance, it was stored in the winery cellars for gradual release to NZ Luxury Lodges. We know what Covid has done to the occupancy of these wonderful establishments, dramatically putting the brakes on the sale of specific wines like this. The winery has judiciously decided to CLEAR these cellar stocks while they are in the peak of their drinking enjoyment.
Smells : Beautifully pronounced with classically Martinborough aromas of ripe red fruits, baking spices, florals and spicy herbs.
Tastes : Juicy, silky and rounded, this is a plush, rich style of Pinot Noir with complex eastern and baking spice nuances infusing the bright red berry and cherry fruits. The finish is extended with savoury wild mushroom and herb complexities adding charm. A classy Pinot Noir approaching the peak of its powers to be enjoyed now through 2022.
