Description
With vines planted way back in the 1990s and 2000s under previous ownership, Luna Estate has recently taken over and is getting much more from these exciting vineyards, crafting some superb Martinborough wines including this striking value, very approachable Estate Pinot Noir. Unlike their top-tier single vineyard wine, this Pinot draws fruit from both Eclipse and Blue Rock estates enabling a harmonious, lively, consistent Pinot every year. No expense was spared winemaking including 100% French barrel maturation (10% new) for at least 12 months.
Smells
Bright red berry fruit, dried herbs, with a dark cherry influence, subtle spice, and wildflowers... an exciting aromatic moment.
Tastes
Silky and opulent with balanced ripe, plum, and raspberry, offset by dried thyme and subtle oak. Very soft, chalky tannins provide great length in this surprisingly complex and layered Pinot. Enjoy now through 2024-2025 with Vietnamese pork dishes and other game meats.
