Description

Single Vineyard wines are small parcels of wine that reflect specific vineyard sites; what does this mean? These wines have individual style, textures, and flavours, that in combination, can never be replicated, these are unique markers, special wines and all due to where they are grown. The first of our Single Vineyard wines from 2019, Muirkirk on Felton Road in the Bannockburn. A delicate and balanced wine, soft and supple texture with great savoury complexity alongside some still present fruitfulness, darker fruit notes as per what Bannockburn delivers with Muirkirk’s trademark lush texture. Never a blockbuster always elegant, your chance for some superb, aged wine.

Smells

silky, smooth, complex aromas of smoky bacon rind, a plethora of red fruits, crushed herbs, spice, and toasty nuances.

Tastes

plush, smooth, and compelling. The exuberant fruit titillates the senses, giving way to tannins that tickle, giving structure as well as longevity. Juicy strawberry, raspberry and forest floor flavours are balanced by a herbal, undergrowth complexity. The tannins build and build, becoming more intriguing with every mouthful. Delicious now but given 10 years+, it will be striking. Serve with game meats and/or wild mushrooms.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
