Smith & Sheth is the exciting NZ wine venture bringing together revered Kiwi winemaker/viticulturist Steve Smith MW (early driver behind the quality of Craggy Range) ... and wealthy American environmentalist Brian Sheth, who, like Steve, is passionate about the creation of WORLD CLASS wines within the most holistic vineyard and winemaking environments. The Cru Heretaunga Chardonnay is produced exclusively from a single vineyard of the same name in the heart of Hawke's Bay's Bridge Pa Triangle. A very impressive Chardonnay that combines power, richness and elegance in a beautiful way.
Smells
Flint and gun smoke are offset by bright tropical and stone fruit, grapefruit skin and nutty complexities.
Tastes
Textural and full-bodied, with balancing acid giving the rich creamy palate structure and length. Ripe tropical and stone fruit accentuated by roasted nut and burnt butter notes – flavours that will become rounder and creamier with age. No rush to drink as it will cellar well for 5years+. Serve with pork or even duck as it is that rich.
