Since 2016, we’ve been banging on about Trinity Hill Gimblett Gravels Chardonnay, it’s great to see them gaining such high international recognition for their quality and class. Trinity Hill are one of the anchor producers of Hawkes Bay situated in the heart of the Gimblett Gravels; They’re a leading producer, and 2022 was an amazing vintage. This is one the great Chardonnays of NZ, one sip and you’ll get that. Its price will soon increase to reflect its world class quality and high-cost production. The juice was fermented and aged in French oak 500 litre barrels, bigger barrels that give perfectly balanced oak nuances without dominating, building harmony and complexity. Good reason why we relate it stylistically to quality Puligny Montrachet from White Burgundy… only its just 20% of their price.

Complex aromas yet elegant, beguiling, and poised, layers of citrus peel, grapefruit, toasty oak, warm, mealy biscuit notes, and subtle burnt match.

Weight and finesse in a glass, streamlined, balanced with exceptional length and texture. Pink grapefruit is wrapped around white stonefruit, cashews, lightly roasted nuts, biscuity charm, and the finish is freshened with subtle lemon zest. Stunning drinking now through 2030 or even longer if properly stored. Serve with pasta dishes or your favourite white meats.
