Description
Inky by name and Inky by nature
Grant and Helen Burge are synonymous with the Barossa where they started in 1988. Recently bought by Accolade, so watch this space and see what happens. The Burge label has always meant, rich, concentrated wines offering value for money. The Ink label is just about that, as indicated on their website: “Barossa Ink came about as a challenge set down by the Grant Burge winemaking team to come up with the most vibrant and impactful wines as possible. The result are two intensely opulent wines from the heart of the Barossa, with a colour so dark, it’s almost ink.” Burge Website.

Smells
intense aromas of freshly squeezed blackcurrants including their sun-baked skins, dark liquorice, dark chocolate, cedar and smoky notes.
Tastes
deep, inky colour, they achieved their goal and not just in colour. The palate is very concentrated, rich and smooth, with lively acidity and silky smooth tannins that encase the plump fruit, giving structure, age-ability and drinkability. Age for 3-5 years, or seriously drink now as it is delicious. Serve with all roasted or barbequed red meats.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
