Description

One of the standout Chardonnays from the Fine Wine annual Chardonnay tasting. A wine with layers of complexity balanced by a concentrated, streamlined palate. Simply sensational and a dead-ringer for White Burgundy. New Zealand Chardonnays have come a long way in the last 20 years and this wine shows the potential and class of what we have to offer. A wine that needs time and given 5years+ in a temperature-controlled cellar, the wine will simply blow your mind. Fast forward 5 years, I can barely wait!!!!

Smells

a statement of a wine, intense aromas of grapefruit, toasty oak, lemon curd, prince melon, cinnamon and other baking spice, aniseed, French tarragon, with hints to burnt match and toasty oak.

Tastes

a striking palate, lemon and lime skin flavours, black salted liquorice with grapefruit, hints of wheat biscuit, toasty vanilla oak and a long saline finish. The chalky texture lingers and just needs 5years minimum for integration on the palate. A wine to cellar 10years+. Nothing less than sensational.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
