Description
Another Single Vineyard Chardonnay masterpiece from Giant Steps. Sourced from 30-plus-year-old vines, with a South-facing aspect, perfect for the warmer seasons ahead. If you do not know this cult producer this is one to add to your list, to follow and buy a few bottles each year for the cellar. Tarraford should be a rich style considering the site and soils, but rather it's tight, long, and linear with a salty nuance which is engaging and compelling. Smells
aromas of lemon/lime zest, green melon, and grapefruit with a salty sea air note and a punchy mineral lift.
Tastes
The balance of texture, flavour and acid is instantly striking on the palate. Flavours of nashi pears, greengage and grapefruit dictate, yet where the whole palate is controlled and powerful. This would give most White Burgundies a run for their money. Very, very good and will cellar 7-8years+. Serve with your favourite white meats.
