Description
"How Helio Happened" is a love story rooted in a shared passion for world-class Chardonnay. Filmmaker Dave Nash and winemaker Matt Kirby met during the making of "A Seat at the Table," a film showcasing New Zealand's ability to produce exceptional Chardonnay. Matt and his partner, Sarah Little, had long dreamed of creating their own wine brand. Over a glass of Chardonnay, the trio decided to collaborate and highlight the potential of Hawke's Bay Chardonnay. Helio, named after the sun, captures the essence of Hawke's Bay's perfect sunshine, essential for growing outstanding wine.
Smells
Aromas of peaches and cream with roasted hazelnuts and cashews with toasty, oak nuances.
Tastes
The creamy mid-palate texture is instantly captivating resonating the Hawkes Bay sunshine. Flavors of sun ripened Golden Queen peaches instantly spring to mind with a buttery, brioche and sourdough crust after-taste. Great balance, a wine of elegance yet shows depth, style and charisma. Serve with your favourite white meats. Drinking well now but no rush and would cellar 4-5 years in a temperature-controlled cellar. For optimal drinking pleasure the recommended serving temperature is 10-13 degrees.
